Early on Thursday morning we were called to the top of Buderim to a unit complex who had water gushing out of the ground. Luckily, we were able to shut off the water at the main to make the assessment. An old plastic water pipe had sheered off possibly due to works occurring next door. The main water pipe was under 150mm of concrete slab which had to be cut and removed. It was a painstaking and arduous job just to get it out.
After the water main was dug up, repaired and tested, we formed up the new concrete area, doweled some steel bars and meshed the area for concrete. The concrete job was completed and the duration of the works from burst water main break to full repair was less than 24 hrs. Needless to say, the residents were very pleased to have their service operational again in such a fast turnaround.
